studio session

Dear friends,

My stay in Bergen was very nice! Wonderful, lovely, funny and many great moments to remember! Bryn was as always great to work with and what an amazing entertainer and singer! And a thrill to work in my own hometown with the great Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra!

Right now I'm working in studio on my new project. We have a string session tonight. Lovely! I
feel so uplifted by these beautiful arrangements and playing by all the musicians that
contribute and make this music live. And of course we have a lot of fun..... Daniel is playing the  Hardanger fiddle with the Trondheim Soloists and Per my pianist and I studying the music.
I can't wait for you all to hear this!

Take care and have fun!

;-)

Sissel

Takk for innblikk kjære Sissel:-)

Hilsen Gunnar

Dearest Sissel,
Thank you for the blog. It's always nice to hear from you.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! It's the big 4 0?
I had the 40 two years ago and it isn't so bad...except for the grey hair that is starting to move in.
I am so excited to hear the new music you've been working on. Will you let us know the release day in advance? please. :)
P.S. You look so smart in your glasses, and pretty too.
Have a wonderful Birthday celebration and may the coming year be filled with loved ones and good times. Leeny

Hi Sissel,
I have just written an article about you on my blog in my language - Vietnamese.
In my country people don't know much about you, so i wrote that article in order to introduce to them your wonderful voice. I myself discovered you by chance when I found songs by Mormon Tablenacle on Youtube.

Happy Birthday to you, 24/06.

Axel

Dear Sissel,
Gratulerer med dagen! Thank you for your beautiful music. We really enjoyed seeing & hearing you in concert and meeting you in Hartford, Connecticut in 2008. You have inspired us to visit scandinavia this summer. We shall attend your concerts at Dalhalla in Sweden and then travel to Norway where we will do some hiking and bird-watching, visit museums and historical sights and enjoy the beautiful norwegian nature. Have a very happy birthday. Thank you again for enriching our lives with your music.

We both know" for første gang live.

hey sissel!

just wanted to let you know, they commemorated you on the radio the other day!

it was on the radio channel Classical 102.1 KDFC, here in the San Francisco Bay Area, during a section called "The Surprise at 5", as in 5PM. they commemorate a special, unique talent every day there, and on Monday July 13 it was you! right before they went to the commercials, they announced the next segment like this:

"And after the break, for our Surprise at 5, a singer who rose to fame in 1994 at the Lillehammer Olympics." As SOON as they said that, I of course knew who it was! I was behind the wheel when I heard this, and I think the surrounding motorists witnessed my excitement! :-D Then they also mentioned how you sung with Domingo, Carreras, Aznavour, Terfel etc.

they played a piece from your album "Into Paradise," called "In Paradisum" by Fauré with [I think] the Trondheim Boys Choir. you received an overwhelmingly positive responce! this came after June 3 when they featured you again on the Surprise at 5 singing Sancta Maria from the intermezzo to Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana" off of the same album. it was awesome!

the funny part was at the end, when the very honest radio host said: "Her first name is Sissel, and it is also the name she performs by, lucky for me, because I cannot pronounce her last name! It has a lot of K's and j's and y's in it." :-D I chuckled!

hope that brightened your day, it sure brightened mine!

skål!

Dearest Sissel,
How are your 'projects' going?
I hope you are well and having a great time.
Fall is in the air again already,(unbelieveable). It amazes me how fast time flies by. I guess it's all about priorities and how we spend our time. :) Take care, Leeny

Takk for musikken.

Dear Sissel,
My friend Axel shared with me the web site that allowed me to watch your Christmas Concert with Odd. What a wonderful concert. I love O Holy Night, and I don't think I've ever heard it sung so beautifully. It brought tears to my eyes. You and Odd have great musical chemistry and your harmony is inspiring. Thank you for sharing your uplifting talents. It was a Christmas present I'll treasure! I saw you with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and on your Northern Lights tour. Anxious to have you return to Utah for another concert. Happy holidays and wishing you a wonderful 2010. Allison
