Hi Again!

Hello Friends!

Done with a fantastic tour in Norway. What a beautiful country we have!
Thanks to all of you who joined me on this tour! Thanks for coming to my conserts and shearing the joy of music with me!
I just love singing these songs from my new album! And the other songs on the consert. Great evening every time and I can´t wait till our Sweden and Denish tour! That will be wonderful!
Now I am doing some signings for the album at different places around Oslo for the next 4 days. Tomorrow evening I will start at Strømmen and Jessheim. It is nice to meet the audience like this, but it can also be a bit stressful as time is running fast and I can´t talk to everybody as much as I wanted. But people are so nice and positive and I really enjoy meeting everybody!
Now I will listen to some Holiday music and relax and enjoy before working again!
Take care and enjoy!
;-)

Sissel
Take care and enjoy the wonderful Holiday Season!

Hello Sissel!
I'm glad the first leg of the tour went well. I've ordered your new cd from Amazon. It should be coming any day now. I can't wait, I'm so excited!!! I've listened to a few songs on Youtube. I love "A dream about you and me & Folkestadvisa." I don't speak Norwegian or Swedish, but the songs are awesome! My daughter & I are trying to learn Norwegian. We are going to Norway one day to see the Northern Lights. People say English is the hardest language to learn, but I beg to differ. LOL! I hope you have time to bake cookies with your daughters this holiday season. May you have a safe, healthy, and happy holidays.

TAKK for gode stunder.
TAKK for i år.
GOD JUL og ALT GODT ønsker vi deg.

Hi Sissel!

I just received your wonderful new album "Til Deg"... wow! What great listening! Admittedly it has been a while since "Northern Lights" came out, I was only 17 years old then.

Hearing your soothing voice again was like seeing a dear friend again for the first time after a long time!!!

Sissel, you're so great. God bless you on this Christmas and I wish you a supremely productive new year 2011!!!

Don't forget about your American fans ^_^

Love you Sissel, cheers!

Do you plan on touring in the U.S. in 2011? It would be great if you would come to Salt Lake City. Your voice is like an angel singing. I had a friend whose wife passed away from cancer a few years ago, and your song "Like An Angel Passing Through My Room" was a great comfort to him. That was the first time I had heard you sing and I was touched so deeply. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world. May God bless you!

The enjoyment you have brought to this Earth and to its people is extremely appreciated by this individual listener. All the best to you and your family for a healthy and prosperous New Year 2011! I know that we all have our favourite singers and it is possible to like lots of singers within specific genres of music, namely Whitney Huston and Celine Dion who are fine pop singers.Sissel for me is in a class of her own. I believe no other female singer can match her purity and clarity of voice together with the warmth she conveys in every performance.she is truly an angel on earth!

Have just signed up as one of your fans. After coming across you by chance on You tube. I never heard of you before, at least not down here in the West Indies. But something in your voice touches my heart. Have you heard of the song "Dream of Olwen" the only persons I've heard it sung by is The Luton girls Choir. And I know your voice will do justice to this beautiful melody. Just like it did on "No other Love" Wish you would sing many more tunes like these in English.

Hi, Sissel
We have no mountains where I live, but I enjoy just walking in nature and especially listening to the music of the birds. Their song is less as the summer goes on, but music is always in nature in some form. Your voice is like the music in nature. It makes me happy just to listen. Can't wait for your next CD. Hope it will be available in the US.

Hi Sissel,
I'm hoping for news of a new CD coming out that will be available in the US. Wish the Gift of Love were still available, but I think I'm out of luck for that one. Wish you could send some of the Norwegian summer to the US. It is really hot here this year.
I love listening to your voice. No matter what type of music you sing it sounds great. Count me in as a loyal fan. I try to make people in my area aware of you. Take care and keep singing. The world needs the calming effect of your voice. Lee from Pennsylvania, USA

Hi, Sissel,
Every now and then I come across something you sang that I have not heard before. "Tenn et lys for dem" is absolutely beautiful. You are right! Music can change things. I wish more people would hum, whistle, or sing. It would chase away sadness. People would be also be happier if they just listened to you sing. How then could they not feel happy?

Hi Sissel,
We are past the halfway point of August, and the birds are beginning to migrate through our area. It makes me hope that there might be a Norwegian songbird that would make a short migration to the United States to brighten our lives before winter all but ends the carols of the birds. Hope you are enjoying your summer. "Sarah's Song" is running through my mind today.

Dear Sissel,
It's difficult to find anything positive in the attacks on Norway in July, but the way the people of Norway responded to such a tragedy was an inspiration to the rest of the world. The words of the song you sang so beautifully to close the memorial service on August 21 reinforce that response. May the rest of the world learn from this and do likewise.

Always,
Lee

Hi, Sissel
Today the sun is shining, and a hint of autumn is in the air. Exactly a week ago we had an earthquake here followed by a hurricane over the weekend. Living daily with the unexpected, I think love is one positive thing that prevails. Maybe that's why your song "Only Love" (Kjaerlighet) keeps running through my mind. When I hear you sing it, my spirits are lifted. Thank you.

Dear Sissel,
Today I am a tropical storm--not me, just my name. I would rather not be associated with something that causes trouble to people. I hope Tropical Storm Lee just ends quickly. Your song "Weightless" keeps running through my mind. Would a tropical storm be weightless? I don't know, but listening to you sing is one way to quiet the storm in my thoughts.

Always,

Hi, Sissel
Was wondering if you have ever sung "Stormy Weather?" It's not the most positive song, but sometimes music lets feelings be expressed to help get rid of stress. I have heard you say that Bergen is a rainy area. That's what we have had in torrents in NE US for the past couple of days. The rivers have left their banks and are coming to visit us, uninvited. Gotta go. Time to mop. Hope things are going better for you in your part of the world.

Dear Sissel,
Really miss your singing with the natural backgrounds of Norway. It looks like you were really outside when you were singing, but maybe that was a trick of photography. Anyway, the effect was beautiful and made me want to see more and more of Norway. Hope you haven't lost your interest in nature. For me, nature is a necessity that keeps me going.

Dear Sissel,
It is getting to the time of year when the trees and flowers are beginning to look tired. The colorful fall flowers perk things up for a short time and then everything is gone. The weeping willow leaves are beginning to fall like tear drops, and the amount of daylight is shrinking. I listen to your songs and wonder what it is like in Norway now. Someday maybe I will know. Be safe and write a little bit to us. We care.

I read comments that you are not an international star. I must be not understanding what people mean when they say that. I read comments from people all over the world who say that you are the best, and I agree. What I also read is that people who want to purchase your records can not find them. In some countries, people say they can not find your records at all. People from other countries can find only 1 or 2. What a shame that everyone can not enjoy all your music! Can't the people responsible for marketing your records do something about this? A loyal fan

Sissel,
Hope you still love nature. Yesterday, I was walking and listening to a bird singing its whisper song. Hear this in autumn when the bird's hormones are not off the charts in the mating ritual of spring. Decided to try a duet and whistled softly along. The bird didn't seem to mind. I loved it. Some singers think that loud is better. You know how to sing softly and bring in the volume when it is most effective. Hope you and yours are well and enjoying autumn. I always enjoy listening to you. Anne

Hi, Sissel,
I was just watching you singing "I Know Him So Well" with Judy Kuhn. You sang your part with such emotion and tenderness. You put yourself into all the songs you sing that the listener feels so well what the song is really saying. I think this is a gift, and I'm not sure it can be taught. I hope you always enjoy singing and want to keep singing so that we can enjoy the beauty of your gift.

Hi, Sissel,
This week birds from the North arrived in my area. They will stay for the winter. One is the "white-throat," also called white-throated sparrow. The white-throat sings a clear high whistle of 11 notes, give or take. The rhythm of its song is like it is singing "Pure, sweet, Canada, Canada, Canada." We have many white-throats, but Norway has only one "gold throat" who sings clearer, higher, and more beautifully than any white-throat. The "gold throat" is one of a kind. All who hear her are fortunate. Always, Lee

Hi, Sissel,
On Oct. 24 the Northern Lights came to Pennsylvania. If it had been clear, there may have been a chance for me to see them, but it was cloudy. Just knowing it is possible to see them here is encouraging. It made me think of your CD "Northern Lights." I love the songs, and will listen to it, again, today. For those who enjoy beautiful music it would make a good Christmas present. Did anyone ever write a song about the Northern Lights? If not, it would be a challenge to try to capture their beauty in musical notes. Take care, Lee

Dear Sissel,
Nature keeps giving me events that remind me so much of your songs that I can't help but share them. Yesterday, (Oct. 29, 2011) we had a significant snowfall of 8"--rare for us in Oct. The trees groaned under the weight of snow on leaves. It reminded me of your song title "In the Bleak Mid-winter" revised to "In the Bleak Mid-autumn." Trees were lost that to me were like good "friends." Was wondering if we have more snow than you right now? Gotta go shovel snow! Always, Lee in PA, USA

Hi, Sissel
It took me a little while to adjust to the country touch of your album "Til Deg." It was different, and "different" is not always accepted immediately. The more I hear the song arrangements, the more I like them. The idea to take things "a little bit country" was a good one. I also liked "Marry Me" in another of your shows. I like seeing you have fun with the songs you sing. Just keep being yourself. I know of no one else who can do so many kinds of music and do them well. Your fan, Giselle

Someone wrote you have a new home. Could you describe the outside? Are there places to hike? I do not want to intrude on your private life. I just would like to hear from you. You write well, and I always enjoy whatever you want to share. Have a great Christmas and New Year. Today "Summer Snow" is running through my thoughts. Always, Lee

Sissel, I am confused. I just read a comment on your Facebook page from someone who said your private blog is none of our business. Is that referring to this blog? Other than Facebook, I know of no other blogs but this one. If that means we should not be writing here, I apologize for previous comments. I never meant to interfere with your privacy. I only wanted you to know how much I enjoy your voice and the person (you) who I see on YouTube. I like my privacy, too, but unlike you I don't have to deal with that because your cat probably "sings" better than I do.

I've been scouring the internet for your songs. It is very refreshing and gives me such emotions, its hard to describe. I cried tears of joy when I heard you sing Ave Maria, and I cried tears again when I listen to Sarah's Song, Hole in the world, Ready to go home. Thank you so much for your gift. Hoping all the best for you and your family this new year. John, near Fresno, California, USA

Hi, Sissel
Here it is nearing the end of January, and we are having our first real winter snow. It is much easier on the trees than the October snow we had last year. But my favorite snow is "Summer Snow" sung by Sissel. It is always beautiful, I can enjoy it any time of the year, and it does not have to be shoveled. I'm sure this 3"+ snow we have today is nothing like Norway snows.

Hei Sissel.

Det å vente 1. time = 1. time.
Det å lengte 1. time = 1.

Hi, Sissel!
The world of nature is very confused in Pennsylvania. We had a snowstorm in October 2011, and now in February 2012 the early spring flowers are blooming--daffodils, snowdrops and crocus. The groundhog on Groundhog's Day predicted six more weeks of winter, but we really have not had one real week of winter. So, your song "Summer Snow" really fits in with this year. It is also one of my favorites. But so many of your songs are favorites of mine, it is difficult to choose. Take care and enjoy whatever season it is today. Lee

Tonight is almost full moon, and the light outside is so bright it looks like there is snow on the ground. This reminded me of a song I just found called "Winter Light." This song is written by Linda Ronstadt, Eric Kaz, and Z. Preisner. When I heard the song, I thought of you, Sissel, because it seemed perfect for your voice. There is another song called "Winter Light" written by someone else, but I don't like that one so well. I tried to see if you had sung Linda Ronstadt's song, but couldn't find it. Maybe you already heard it and didn't choose to sing it. Anyway, thanks for reading this. Lee

Hi, Sissel
It's close to Valentine's Day, and that reminds me of your CD "My Heart." It touches my heart every time I listen to it, and that is often. It makes me happy and makes even a bad day better. I really like all the songs on it.
Please wish your daughter a "Happy Birthday" for me. My birthday is in February, too.
And I wish you "Happy Valentine's Day."

Hi Sissel,
I hope you are settled in you beautiful new home. I have a video of you at the Age show and from the concert in Sweden at the opening of the new Clarian Hotel. Both concerts and songs were terrific. I hope you will continue to sing and give your fans much joy in their lives. Wish your daughter a Happy Birthday for me.
Take care and God Bless.

Hi, Sissel
Just wanted to give you a big THANKS! for adding that photo of you on the giant snow bear at the Olympics. I had read about your sitting on a snow bear and always wanted to see what it looked like. It was even better than I had imagined. I am thinking that it was a very cold seat, but your smile was warm enough to put that big old bear in danger of melting.
Thanks, again,

Hi, Sissel
The snow geese have arrived here in southern PA. There are thousands of them from mid-Feb. to mid-March. A large water area meant for migrating waterfowl is their "home base". They are a "snowstorm on wings" when they take off. Wish I could send you a picture. Do you have them in Norway? They are small white geese with black wing tips. This is definitely a sign of spring for us. People come from all over to see them. Hope you are having a good day.

Dear Sissel,
Right now in the US we are immersed in reality singing contest shows. Each night after one of those shows is over, I listen to your singing to soothe my ears. I mean no disrespect to the contestants, but no one sings like you. The judges of these shows always tell a contestant to make a song his/her own. You always do that, and after I hear you sing a song, your version is best. In other words, I love your singing.

I have read that this year you will be taking a break from entertaining. The pressure from being in the limelight all the time must be difficult. We read all the time of how it affects actors, singers, and even people in sports. Do what is best for you and your family, but know that your fans will miss you and will wait for the time you feel it is right to return.

Sincerely,

Sissel, Loved the picture of snow in Oslo on your Facebook page. Today (March 8) it was 60 degrees at 9:00 a.m. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing, and I was wondering where winter went. Now I know one place it went was Oslo! I miss 4 seasons, but I also am not writing off winter yet. We have had some major snowstorms in March and April. In eastern New York state (New Paltz) it has been the warmest February on record in 116 years of weather record keeping. Hope you are having a good day. Any day we hear from you is a good day. Lee

Sissel - Reading the replies to your snow picture of Oslo on March 8 was so awesome. It was like a trip around the world in one day sharing the weather--something we all have in common. Hearing about the trees and flowers, various temperatures and seasons took on so much more meaning from the personal comments. Another thing we have in common is the appreciation of your beautiful voice. Thanks for sharing with us and giving everyone a chance to share in return. That was a great idea you had! Giselle

Hi, Sissel
I was thinking of you Sunday (March 11, 2012). I was trying to take a walk in nature and could not get away from crowds of noisy people. It was a nice day, and everyone was trying to enjoy being outside, but I was looking for quiet, solitude, and peace. As the little bit of peace that was in me was slipping away, I thought that maybe this is what you experience all the time. I hope there are still some places in Norway where a person can find quiet and beauty and other people who share a love of nature . Have a good day. Judy

Hi, Sissel
Just wanted to share something in nature that happened to me. I saw a live mink! I never saw one in nature before (usually they are on coats). I could almost hear you singing "To God Be the Glory" while I watched it. I don't know what part of nature you enjoy most--scenery, animals, plants--, but I enjoy all of it. As you can probably tell, this made me pretty happy. Not far from where I saw the mink, there was a nest of red-tailed hawks. What a day! Hope your day is going well.

Hi, Sissel
So glad you finally got that touch of spring we have been experiencing. I love this time of year. So much is happening that I hate to blink because I might miss something. Here, the daffodils are amazing, turning the flower beds golden. What a concert it would be if music came out of those "trumpets" on the flowers. Thanks for sharing "Varen" with us. You sing it so beautifully. I try to enjoy each spring as if it could be the last. That way all in nature is appreciated, and nothing is taken for granted. Anne

Dear Sissel,
Glad to hear about your new company called "Early Bird." It is a good choice for a name. I am hoping you get all your wishes fulfilled in this venture. I'm sure I'll "love everything that you do" because I always have.
Even though "all good things come to those who wait," it is the "early bird that gets the worm!"
I voted for you in the contest mentioned in Facebook. I wonder if everyone knows it is possible to vote more than once? It is my wish that you win.

Hi, Sissel
The picture of the Royal Palace is great. What a magnificent building! I also loved the flowers in the front part of the picture. They look like what we call crocus. If that is so, it gives me an idea of where Oslo is in the sequence of blooming flowers. For us, crocus are over until next year. Daffodils and tulips are blooming now, and many of the flowering trees are blooming as well. And I am sneezing, but the beauty is worth putting up with it.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with a different, but similar, communication group on the Internet. I'm not that good with using a computer--some things better than others. I would like to be a part of your Facebook, but I don't know how to restrict my participation to yours only. I hope I will be able to see what the good news you have on Monday is. The pictures of you alone and with your accompanist are great. And, thanks for sharing the flowers with us. I recognize the pussywillows. Are the white flowers roses? They seem almost double. Do you have spring wildflowers in the woods? Ours are blooming already--way earlier than usual. Thanks for thinking of us. Tol

Hi, Sissel
Do you have Spring Peepers in Norway? Where I live they are very small frogs (less than half the size of the little finger) that sing (peeping sound) in a chorus. One starts then others join in, and the sound is surprisingly loud for such small creatures. To me the sound is beautiful, but not so beautiful as Norway's "Gold Throat." Enjoy spring. Take time to go for walks in nature if you can. There is so much beauty there and, like life, it moves by so quickly. Lee

Dear Sissel,
I just saw you performing at the Titanic 3D premiere and heard you sing the song you should have sung from the beginning. I am so happy I had the chance to hear you sing it. You are right--all good things do come to those who wait. I started out my day as I often do--listening to you sing. That way at least one part of my day is already good. Wishing you and yours a great weekend with maybe a little chance to be outside with nature. Take care and know that you are loved by so many people--family, friends, and fans. Anne

Hi, Sissel
March came in "like a lamb and went out like a lion." The spring winds "roared." It made me think of the song you sing "Varvindar Friska." The spring green that lasts for only a couple of weeks is visible now. The thrush has not returned yet. I love the words of this song and the way you sing it. I'll play it often because the references to spring are many, and I enjoy seeing someone who sings for the joy of it. Happy spring and Happy Easter! Lee

Dear Sissel,
Your way of spending Easter sounds wonderful. If I could I would choose fresh air first followed by either mountains or the ocean. Where I live, if I did not have a calendar, I would think it is May. The dogwood trees are blooming as well as the tulips. Everything seems to be blooming to celebrate God's gift. To God Be the Glory!
Happy Easter to you.

Dear Sissel --Today (in my imagination) I am on the deck of the Titanic as it glides through the Atlantic to its destiny. I think I hear a beautiful voice. Could it be the wind? No--it is too beautiful for the wind, and I know I have heard it before. It is your song from the movie. Even for a ship like this your voice exceeds the majesty and luxury of the vessel. Your song will be in my thoughts sailing with the Titanic until it meets its final resting place in the sea. Then, another of your songs will take its place because I want to hear you every day. I hope your cooler area allows you to experience spring at a slower and more long-lasting pace. We are about 4 weeks ahead of schedule. I find that listening to your CD "My Heart" has a calming effect on me which right now I very much need. Hope your Easter was happy. Lee

Hi, Sissel
Today is Earth Day, and nature is celebrating in the best way it can in my area with a gentle, steady rain which is very much needed. I think of how, as a youngster, you used to hike with your parents on Sunday, rain or shine.
I decided to spend some of the afternoon with you enjoying the natural areas of Norway as you sing. I wish you a good day, perhaps enjoying nature, wherever you are. Lee

Hi, Sissel--Recently I was in the audience of a Percussion Concert. There was one number after another of kettle drums, cymbals and "wood-winds." It lasted over an hour. The woods were not damaged because the winds were not severe, nor was the lightning. Yes, it was a thunderstorm, but nature's concerts are in many forms. I would have preferred to hear you singing "The Breeze and I," but there were no vocalists. The "light show" in the background was awesome. Hope you are still getting a chance to get out and enjoy spring. Lee

Dear Sissel,
Liked the picture of the flowers you planted in your balcony flower box. In spring I also plant summer flowers in flower boxes. If I'm lucky I get a hummingbird occasionally. When the summer flowers are done blooming, I plant cold-tolerant pansies for the fall. They can withstand light frost and even begin blooming early the next year. Last year's pansies are blooming again right now in the flower boxes. Flowers are one of the joys of summer for me. Glad you like them, too. Anne

I have always thought of June as the month of roses, but the roses don't know that and they are blooming as if it were June. The calendar is still trying to play "catch up" with nature as it speeds through this year, and I am getting caught up in the race. As the temperatures warm up, I find myself humming Christmas carols. (I am worse than nature. For me that usually begins in July.) Yesterday I watched you get a standing ovation while singing carols with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Hi, Sissel
Right now the honeysuckle vines are blooming. I like to go for a ride at night just to smell the honeysuckle fragrance. It seems much stronger at night. Today I took a break and went for a walk on a favorite road--little traffic and lots of nature. I enjoyed the songs of birds. Most of them I knew. The winter birds have gone north. One of our summer birds is called a catbird because of the "meow" sound it makes. Spring days are a blessing. In my thoughts I could hear you singing "To God Be the Glory." Lee

Dear Sissel, I think this comment was lost, but if not please delete the repeat. It is Memorial Day weekend in the US, and I am getting ready to play "Spirit of the Season." I first got that CD in Oct. 2011. I played it, and we had an unusually early snowstorm. I then decided to play it again when the weather was warm to see if it cooled the humid air. Temperatures are expected to reach almost 90 degrees this weekend. Seems like the time is right, but, for me, anytime is the right time to hear your voice. I listen to you daily and each day look forward to hearing you sing. Tol

Hi, Sissel If you could have a perfect day what would it be? In the US today is Memorial Day. I was thinking my perfect day would begin by seeing members of my family who are no longer here. Of course, the weather would be perfect, and I could then get to the ocean in 15 minutes, instead of the usual 3 hours. I would walk on the sand next to the waves as they rippled on the shore. Everyone would smile and be friendly to each other. Then, I would go to a concert, and you would be singing there. Going home, under a full moon, I would think: "To God Be the Glory." Anne

Dear Sissel, Rachel Carson once said, "Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts." Hi, Sissel
One of the pleasures of having flowers is seeing the butterflies that come to them for the nectar. Today I saw a zebra swallowtail butterfly, one of my favorites. It had recently had a narrow escape from a predator as was shown by the absence of one of its long "tails." Even so, it was nectaring a tennis-ball-sized milkweed flower and allowed me to get a close look. A sighting like this costs nothing, but the memory is priceless. I know I'm a little early, but have a Happy Birthday--and many more. Giselle

Dear Sissel, On this first day of summer (6/20/2012), I am reminded that your birthday is near. Today we have the most amount of daylight during the entire year. In my area we are supposed to hit the 95-degree mark so the weather is giving us a message that it is serious about summer. On your birthday, for once, you can sit back and have people sing "Happy Birthday" to you, instead of your doing the singing! Have a great birthday! Anne

luck? Usually my father does it.

Sometimes I think about the 12 months and which one I'd eliminate and then double up on one I really like. It is very possible I'd eliminate July and then have two Aprils or two Septembers. As you can see, the heat is messing up my thought processes. Hope your summer is going well. Lee

Saw your picture of "strawberries on a straw." I just closed my eyes and breathed in the smell of fresh strawberries in my thoughts. Our strawberry season is over, but they are not the wild ones. We have two wild kinds--the wild strawberries similar to yours and the ones that are mostly seeds and no flavor. Sadly, the ones that taste good are the most difficult to find.
Love it when you share the things about nature that you treasure. Keep enjoying your summer. Giselle
P.S. Sorry. I can't do Facebook. I tried.

Hi, Sissel
Nature's music of summer is replacing the spring songs of the birds and frogs. The cicadas are warming up their tympanic drums while the grasshoppers and crickets are buzzing and chirping to "beat the band." Next, the katydids will join in, and the concert will be complete. I love writing about nature in my part of the world, but I guess my writing is not good or you are not interested. No one has looked at the comments here for several months. Anyway, hope your summer is going well. Lee

I write comments here, but no one reads them any more. I tell of your voice, its beauty, its versatility, its magic, but no one bothers to look. What good are words if no one ever reads them.? What good is music if no one ever listens? This blog has become a blank page of unrecognized comments. The old songs have been replaced by new ones, but that does not make the old songs less beautiful. People are being replaced by technology, but does that make them less important? Perhaps so. Goodbye from the robot who used to be a person.

Summer has been good for you. Autumn is evident here by the berries on the trees and the birds winging their way south. I will miss my flowers. We have not had frost yet, but the nights are cooler now. It gets closer to "the long winter's sleep" with each day.
Stay well and relaxed. Your fan, Lee

Sissel,
I really like the new picture of you on Facebook. You look happy and relaxed, and that makes me happy. The leaves on the trees where I live are beginning to color just a little as if a painter were out during the night testing his colors. Do you have a favorite Norwegian autumn song? A friend of mine always said that autumn is not the end. It is the beginning with every seed that is produced. I try to keep that in mind as it gets dark earlier and earlier. Tol

Dear Sissel,
Your latest picture on Facebook (Autumn 2012) is just beautiful. Your hair style looks great. I have never known anyone who can wear so many different styles so well. What is your favorite Autumn song?

I love to hear you sing.

Alice

Dear Sissel,
The air is brisk, leaves are changing color, birds are picking berries from the trees, daylight is shorter, and I'm trying to figure out where summer went. I will "wait a while" to listen to your Christmas music. Already they are advertising Christmas here, and it seems too early at the beginning of October. I have been listening to your "One Day" a lot lately. It's a good song, and I kind of feel that way right now. I wonder when my "One Day" will come. Take care. Be well. Am I the first to wish you a Merry Christmas? 1 - 4 - 3 Lee

Dear Sissel, How I wish you would write something on this blog. I mean once in a while. I know you're busy. My pansies from last fall finally got tired and "went away." Even though we've had our first frost, the new ones are still blooming and "dance in the autumn breeze." Lately I am listening to "Dancing Sissel - He's Gonna Marry Me." The way you and the band perform it puts a smile on my face even on a gray day like today. I am so glad I found you on the Internet. I think of you often and wish the best for you and all your loved ones. Anne

Well, it finally happened! As you predicted, I got tired of listening to you. Just kidding! I could never get tired of listening to you. There are some people out there who do not believe that the voice is an instrument. I think of your voice as a grand piano or a fine violin. I love your range from the lower notes to the highest. I love it when you add some background to the song before you sing it. And I love your sense of humor when you choose to show it in your performances. In other words, please keep those CDs and concerts coming. They make the world a better place. Keith

Today is so dark with clouds and rain that I'm not sure if it is beginning or ending. So, to brighten the day I'm going to play your songs beginning with "Over the Rainbow." Your singing puts sunshine in even the most gloomy day. Thank you.

Sissel,
It is getting near Halloween. This makes me think of a song you sing called the "Vilia Song." The song itself is beautiful. The way you sing it makes it more so.
Last year at this time we had a terrible snow storm that destroyed many trees. This year a hurricane is headed our way and is also believed to be a destructive one. I'm hoping the forecasters are wrong and the days coming up will be like a beautiful song, instead of like one out of tune.
Best wishes, Lee

Dear Sissel, Wish you would comment on this blog page. Some of the comments on your Facebook page are very strange, and I don't want to get involved in that. Here, you can delete that kind of stuff before it is shown on the screen. I like your writing and know you don't have time for a lot of it, but it has been quite a while since anything new has appeared here. I am sincerely your fan, and you have many fans who have enjoyed your comments here. I have not been feeling well, and it would help to see a comment here.
Always, Tol

3Dear Sissel, I am replying to a comment that you do not write enough on your Facebook. Even on this blog you have admitted that you are busy and neglect writing comments. I am happy for whatever you write, when you write it. I am sure you are busy with Early Bird Mgmt. Those of us whose lives are different should not judge the lives of others. Right now many in the USA east coast are suffering from bad storms. They have no power, and some have lost everything. I don't think their first priority is Facebook. I hope you are well and happy. Those things are priceless. Giselle

Sissel, I am glad you are doing the Christmas concerts in Bergen this year. Christmas would not be the same without your voice adding to the beauty of this time of year. There should be a song for those who have gone to a better place and experience the ultimate Christmas celebration. This is the first year I will not be with my mother at Christmas. Maybe I'll write a song, or at least a poem, to honor the memory of those who are now angels forever in our hearts. Best wishes to you and yours for the holidays and always. Anne

Hi, Sissel
Have you ever recorded "Dream of Love"--also called Liebestraum by Franz Liszt? There are several variations of the words. The original was a poem by Ferdinand Freiligrath. His words were sad. The first I heard were in an old Jeannette MacDonald/Nelson Eddy film called "Girl of the Golden West."
Did you ever hear the expression,"music is love in search of the words?" I liked that thought. Hope the year is going well for you so far.
Sincerely, Tol

Dear Sissel,
It's late for me (1:00 a.m.) and early for you as I write this. I sat in the moonlight and thought about how your voice would sound singing "Clair de Lune." The moon has moved below the tree line so I thought I would say "good night" in this message before I go to sleep. Children may become too old for lullabies, but I would love to hear some of yours. Good night from the moon and me and good morning to you. Your fan in moon- light or daylight, Lee

Dear Sissel,
I have been reading through your blog. Your comments about your concerts, preparing for them, and the places you visited are so interesting. Also the pictures add so much to this blog. Thank you for doing this. If you are the person taking the scenic pictures, you have a very good eye for photography. I love nature, and you have such a wonderful area to see the true beauty of nature in all its glory. I love your voice, your choice of music, and the thoughts you share with us. I find myself wishing we could walk in nature together. Angie

Dear Sissel, It is night here and early morning there, but I still want to write this before going to sleep. Snow is softly falling and not expected to be more than the thickness of icing on a cake. I love your music. I love your voice. In addition to music, you and I have a bond in loving nature. Being close to nature can take the sting out of life's hurts. Since it is getting close to Valentine's Day, I have been listening to "Kjaerlighet." Enough for tonight. It is getting late. I hope each day brings you closer to your next goal. With love, Laree

1195Dear Sissel,
Happy Valentine's Day a little early. Also, a happy birthday wish to your daughter, who like me celebrates her birthday in February. I am sending you an imaginary bouquet of the roses named for you. While they exist only in the imagination, they will never fade and will remain beautiful. Imagination is a wonderful thing. It is too bad so many adults lose it in the process of "growing up." You can sing a lullaby or tell me a fairy tale anytime. I would cherish them. Love to you on Valentine's Day and always. Lee

Dear Sissel,
I am a robot, but unlike the tin man in the "Wizard of Oz who was looking for a heart," I am looking for a singing voice so I can sing a duet with you. You already have my heart which I am giving to you on Valentine's Day. Now I am going to listen to you sing "Over the Rainbow" and feel like I am in the magical land of Oz again.
I wish you much happiness on Valentine's Day and always. The Robot

Dear Sissel,
Happy Mother's Day--late! The only thing that shows improvement is that I at least got the month right this year. Last year I wished you Happy Mother's Day in May, the time when the U.S. celebrates the day. No matter what month, you are the kind of mother any kid would be proud to have. Hope the year is going well for you. I like to read this blog of yours. It really explains what you have to deal with as an entertainer. Keep well and happy. Your friend, Lee

Can't believe someone hasn't left a comment here since Nov. 10, 2012. Guess no one is checking out this site anymore. Too bad. There were some good comments here. Keep up the good work of ignoring your fans. It will come back to you. All bad things come to those who treat others with indifference. But I'm not important, either. I am just a robot whose comment will never get through.

Dear Sissel,
I have been listening to your singing of "Varen." The lyrics are so sad, but you sing it so beautifully I have to listen. I am at that place in my life right now. This could be my last spring. Spring is my favorite time of the year. I was operated on, and (I don't want to even type the word) was found. I will have to have treatments but there is no guarantee that they will be 100% effective. They just give me a better chance. I hope you will see many springs, and that your voice will continue to thrill those who hear it. Your devoted fan, Lee

Happy Spring, Sissel
I don't know if it seems like spring in your part of the world, but today the sun was out and some flowers are blooming here.
Every morning you and I have breakfast together. By the time I am eating breakfast you will already have lunch, but it doesn't matter. You do the singing, and I do the eating. It is a great combination.
Thank you for your music and for being who you are.
Both mean even more now than ever. Love, Lee

Dear Sissel, Happy Easter (early). I love the chicks on your Facebook page! I am waiting for your new site to see if I can feel comfortable using it. This site is my favorite, but I can understand your reasons for something more used and better known by people.
For Easter, after giving thanks, I will try to get outside and enjoy the beauty of early spring which goes by so fast.
Hope you have an Easter that gives you peace, joy, and relaxation. As always, the best of health and happiness to you and your family. Lee

Hi, Sissel
Instead of going to the mountains for snow, snow is predicted to come to us! Depending on the results, this may be a record snowfall this late in March. I don't want the spring flowers to be frozen. I love those little yellow peeps on your Facebook page. They are so cute. They make me smile. What is your favorite song to sing for the Easter season? I wish you, your family, and friends a Happy Easter now and always. Right now I am listening to your songs from "Into Paradise"--a little bit of heaven on Earth. Giselle

Hi, Sissel
If all of nature were a flower, in my area it would be a large bud ready to fully open. Spring just isn't in the air, it can be felt inside. Birds are returning for the summer. Our male goldfinches are changing from winter tan to summer gold. That light spring green of new leaves is beginning to appear while daffodils are in their glory. The more I hear your native songs, the more I like them, not just the music but also the sound of the words even though I know only a few of them. Thank you for sharing your music. Lee

Dear Sissel,
It's been a while since I've written here. It doesn't look like anyone checks this out any more, but I thought I'd comment anyway--just hoping. I have been trying to find the lyrics to your song "Goodbye" on the "Til Deg" album but can only find what is on Youtube. I'd buy "Til Deg" in a minute if I could get it in a store. I don't like to order over the Internet. Hope spring is starting to blossom in your country. It goes so fast. Some of the early flowers are over already. Wishing you the best of everything. Please keep singing. Always, Tol

Sissel, Your Facebook site, which had been growing and growing, is beginning to lose numbers. People don't know what to do because we haven't heard from you and think maybe you have left your Facebook page. Some people have wished you Happy Mother's Day. They don't know that Norway has a different day from other countries. You have a loyal following on Facebook. We care about you and are concerned when you "disappear". Maybe an update on your new website would help. Thanks, Keith

Sissel, Really miss your comments and photos here and on Facebook. The Memorial Day weekend is starting for us in the USA. The time always goes so fast from May to the beginning of September. P.S. Have been listening to your songs from "Into Paradise." Never get tired of them.

Just in case, I want you to know I think of you and am hoping you are well and surrounded by everything that makes you happy. I still start out the day by listening to you sing. Dear Sissel,
Wishing you a Happy Birthday and a happy beginning of summer! Hope you get to see this on your birthday. I am thinking you have lots of daylight in Norway now. Is there a name for this kind of light the same way you have a name for the Blue Hour in winter? Last night we had a beautiful full moon. Because the moon was closer to Earth than it normally is, the moon looked larger. If it gets dark enough, look for the north star. Your star is near there. Best wishes for happiness and good health to you and your loved ones. Lee

Hi, Sissel

It is July hot in the US, and I am cooling off by listening to you singing Christmas and winter songs. Time will go by quickly, and soon people will come to hear you sing at your Christmas concerts. Hope you are having a good summer and enjoying warmer temperatures and beautiful flowers.

Wishing you happiness and good health.

Hi, Sissel Help! A while ago, on your Facebook site, you mentioned a new website in the near future. I did not join Facebook. I decided to wait for your new website. Now there is information out there about your upcoming concerts for Christmas, but no mention on Facebook where you usually told us. Have I missed your new website? Sorry to bother you, but I am a fan and want to follow you the best I can. You have many fans who really care about you and want to support you and your career. Wishing you happiness, health, and much success now and always. Lee

Dear Sissel, In my country this is the last "official" weekend of summer. Where has it gone? I start the day listening to you sing. Lately I can't get enough of "Kjaerlighet" and "Soria Moria." The music is beautiful. I miss your comments on Facebook. You write so well, and the pictures you take are very good and show Norway through your eyes. I know this summer will always be special for you because you got married. May each season bring you closer together. I wish good health, happiness, and love for you and those close to you. Lee

Hi, Sissel
You are probably preparing for your Christmas concerts, and we did have some early fall-like weather. But today the temperatures are back in the 90s, and thoughts of Christmas are drowned by drops of sweat. Right now I am playing "Summer Snow," and that seems to combine both seasons. Hope your flowers are still blooming and that all is well with you, your family, and friends.
Season's greetings,
Lee

Hi, Sissel,
I've been reading about your upcoming Christmas concerts, and I think it put me in the Christmas mood. I was really shocked tonight when I looked out and saw "snow" on the evergreen trees near my house. This was surprising since it is still September. It was the light from the full moon that caused this illusion of a dusting of snow. While the moonlight is cool, its beauty warms my heart and reminds me that Christmas is not that far away. Hope you are enjoying the moonlight, too. Lee

Dear Sissel,
The leaves on the trees are changing color, and the days switch back and forth between summer and autumn. I try to be grateful for each day, but I am already thinking of your upcoming concerts and the wonderful music of that time of year. So, Christmas is coming early for me. I wish I lived closer so I could attend at least one of your concerts. I will be thinking of you and hoping you enjoy each and every one of them. I know the people who come will. I wish you health, happiness, and beautiful autumn days. Lee

Dear Sissel,
Whenever I hear a song that really touches me, I think: how would Sissel sing this? This song is not new, but I think the words and music are both beautiful. The song is called "To Make You Feel My Love" by Bob Dylan. It has been around for a while, but I only heard it this week. Maybe you won't like it, or maybe you have already heard it, but I still think that you could make it even more touching. Hope you are enjoying each day as it comes because every day is unique and precious.
Your fan and friend always, Lee

Dear Sissel, I see you are adding dates for your Jul concerts. Wish I could go, but still dealing with health issues. "Summer Snow" is gone for the year, but we still have colorful autumn leaves. Daylight is getting less, and "When October Goes" so does daylight savings time. Wish I could hear you sing "When October Goes." It is sad, but so beautiful. But, you should sing what makes you happy. It makes your voice even more beautiful, and that makes me happy. Enjoy getting ready for your concerts. You are doing something that will make many people happy. Always, Lee

Dear Sissel,
I have just purchased Bryn Terfel's 'Homeward Bound." I like Bryn, but I found myself wishing you had sung more on the album. "Give Me My Song" is beautiful as is "Shall We Gather...". I know your Christmas tour is on your mind, but I'm hoping future plans include a new album of yours. By the way, I love every part of your voice from the beautiful high notes to the wonderful, mellow low notes. I think you deserve more credit for the lower part of your range. Your voice is magical. Always, Lee

Dear Sissel, The trees are losing their leaves and many are already bare. They look cold without their leaves. We have not had snow yet, and I'm not complaining. At this time of year I look at what I am especially thankful for. I am thankful for music and to you for introducing me to music I would not have known without you. I am thankful for your voice and your records that allow me to listen whenever I feel like it, which is often. I am thankful for the person that you are. I know you really enjoy this time of year, and that makes me happy. Always, Lee

Sissel,
I was finally able to find you singing "To God Be the Glory" on the Lindmo show. That was the song you sang when I first heard you. I was thrilled then, and I am just as thrilled this time. You sound great and look great. All I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW! It was like a rainbow, a beautiful sunset, and a full moon all at the same time. Thank you for sharing your wonderful voice with us. I'm so glad you decided to do these Christmas concerts. It is a present for all of us who care about you and your music. Always, Lee
